Delta Group

Challenge

Delta Group were not replacing an old system — there was no system. More than 20 stations, each one three businesses at once: a forecourt priced by the litre and often billed to an account, a market with its own stock and fiscal receipts, and frequently a restaurant that works nothing like the shop. Across all of it there was no reliable view of what had sold or what fuel had moved until somebody worked it out by hand, for a company of more than 150 people trading since 1990.

Solution

To address the challenges, the solution involved:

• Deploying SpaceFuel on each forecourt, so pumps and tanks are driven, priced and authorized from the same till that serves the shop — no separate terminal for fuel.

• Running SpacePOS in retail mode at the markets and restaurant mode at the restaurants, with fiscalization built in and the tills still selling if the connection drops.

• Putting Tramsuite behind all of it, so one item catalogue and one set of books cover every site instead of each station keeping its own.

• Building the fleet and business card system specifically for Delta Group — business customers fuel on account, authorized by card, priced against their agreement and rolled into a statement Delta Group can invoice.

• Rolling the whole network out in two months, by getting the first forecourt, market and restaurant genuinely right before repeating it across the remaining sites.
